In the first instalment of our series, UP CLOSE WITH, Sandbach Nub News takes a closer look at a local business, Fieldview Floristry.

Walking towards the front door of a house in Haslington near Sandbach, the first thing which hits you is the pretty floral door wreath providing an instant welcome.

When the door opens a friendly face greets me and it's not long before I am taken inside through the French doors framed with a huge garland into the conservatory.

The view is spectacular, open countryside, an airy room in which to work and create – the engine room of the fast-expanding Fieldview Floristry.

Former HR manager, Helen Knight (42) set up the business in April and had no problems deciding on the name – Fieldview - because of the gorgeous open views.

"It's a great place to work and make up my designs. There's so much light flooding through into the room and I get so much inspiration here," she said.

Helen and her family relocated to the area a year from the south to be nearer family. When Helen's youngest son, Tom (5) secured a place at Springfield School in Crewe she decided to launch her own business.

Helen had worked in floristry in her native Bramhall in her youth, a job she loved, so it was no surprise when she decided to revisit this part of her life and launch her own business.

Since starting, her work has expanded from door wreaths covering all the seasons to autumn, summer, spring and winter to weddings, christenings and funerals not to mention floral displays for local businesses.

Her Facebook page – Fieldview Floristry - is packed full with examples of her commissions and so too is her Instagram account, @fieldviewfloristry, regularly updated with her work.

Helen created a huge flower wall at Vintage Hair Salon in Sandbach and an outside display, providing a stunning eye-catching frontage to the Welles Street business.

She has also started creating business floral decorated hoops including one for her sister Cottage Crafts and another for HA Aesthetics new Nantwich salon.

Helen uses fresh and artificial flowers for her designs and is busy getting ready for a wedding in Alderley Edge at the end of August.

Fieldview Floristry is making bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, button holes, displays for the top table and flower girls.
