Victim of Sandbach pub assault 'recovering well'

The victim of an assault at a Sandbach pub is "recovering well" and possibly discharged from hospital, police say.

The incident took place on Saturday (22 May) and the 23-year old man, who the police have not identified, was left in a "serious condition" in hospital.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "The victim in the case is recovering well and according to the latest update he was possibly going to be discharged yesterday (26 May)."

Five males, aged 16, 17, 18, 19 and 21, were arrested over the incident at the Swan and Chequers pub and have since been released on bail until 21 June.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information about this incident to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 994493.
