Voters have until 10 pm (Thursday) to place their vote in the Sandbach Town Council's Town Ward by-election.
Three candidates are standing for the vacant seat – John Arnold (Labour), Michelle Hough (Liberal Democrats) and Dave Poole (Independent).
The seat became vacant after former councillor David Jack stepped down from Sandbach Town Council in January.
The two polling stations for the election are the Masonic Hall on The Commons and Sandbach Rugby Union Football Club in Bradwall Road.
Voters in the town's Town Ward are voting for a candidate to replace former councillor David Jack who stepped down in January.
Sandbach Town Council is made up of 20 councillors across four wards - Town Ward, Sandbach Heath and East Ward, Ettiley Heath and Wheelock Ward and Elworth Ward.
Councillors are elected by public vote every four years. Any vacancies occurring outside of the four yearly election may be filled by co-option or a by-election.
The winning candidate in today's by-election will join the four current Town Ward councillors – Cllr Ann Nevitt (Conservative), Cllr John Beddows (Labour), Cllr Steve Kirkham (Conservative) and Cllr Alan Smith (Labour).
