What's On in Sandbach this weekend

After the excesses of Christmas and New Year, sport seems to be the theme this weekend for events in Sandbach.

Rugby and football dominate the scene but if you want to walk off some of those extra pounds there's plenty of open countryside.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days: Saturday January 8th Sandbach Rugby Union Football Club in Bradwall Road is starting the New Year off with a bang! All three senior teams are in action. The 1st XV are at home with a 2:15pm kick off against Dudley Kingswinford. The 2nd XV are heading up to Blackburn while the 3rd XV open their New Year account at Bradwall Road looking to continue their impressive form. Meanwhile Sandbach United Football Club in Hind Heath Road are at home to Stafford Town. Kick-off is 3pm. The Swan and Chequers in Sandbach has Footy Saturdays with live sport on TV from 12pm. Sunday January 9th There are lots of local places to have a leisurely walk. The Salt Line is popular along with Sandbach Park which has childrens' play areas not to mention the canal. Further afield, there's Brereton Heath Nature Reserve and walks around the Bradwall area.
