Easter is nearly here, the schools are breaking up and it's a busy weekend ahead! 

There's a play by the Saxon Players, a farmers' market at nearby Scholar Green, a monthly board game club meet-up, live football and live music and much more.  

Every Thursday, we bring you our top picks of events in Sandbach happening over the coming weekend.

Friday, March 31st

 

Sandbach's Saxon Players stage the second night of "Hannah The Hammer", the sequel to "Hannah's Left Hook" at Sandbach Masonic Hall.

The play, about the formidable Hannah Corcoran, a Birkenhead housewife, is one not to be missed. Read all about it in our story here:

 Saturday, April 1st   

At Wheelock Congregational Church in Hind Heath Road, there's an Easter Fair and coffee morning from 10 am until 12 noon with a treasure hunt. Go along and show your support!

It may be April Fool's Day but there's no joke about this! Rode Hall Farmers Market at Scholar Green is on from 9 am until 1.30 pm with over 70 artisan food and craft stalls brimming with lots of Easter and Spring crafts. The Workshy Fops will be playing live and the Spring gardens are open.

The courtyard kitchen will be open selling bacon and sausage baps and homemade cakes and soups.

Sandbach RUFC are away. This week sees the first round of the newly formed @papajohnsuk Community Cup. Sandbach are drawn in a group with, @cleckheaton_rufc, @yorkrufc and @stockportrugbyclub - the winner of the group progresses to the next round. Sandbach RUFC are off to Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire with a 3 pm kick-off.

Sandbach United aka The Ramblers are at home against Stockport Town with a 3 pm kick-off. Show them your support! 

Sandbach Board Games A monthly board game meetup particularly aimed at families with young children Ettiley Heath Community Centre in Elton Road from 1pm until 4 pm. £3 per family per session.

There's also a 'bring and buy' table. If you have any games you're looking to move on take them along. £3 per family per session

At 3 pm, Sandbach Social Club has its six-weekly meet-up event at The George in Sandbach. The group organises local events and is open to anyone to join.

A great group to join to meet new people. Go along and find out more! 

In the evening, The Remedies are live at The Lion inn High Street from 9 pm.

At the Cheshire Cheese in Wheelock, the Pluckers, an acoustic duo who play classic hits are on with a 9pm start.

Sunday, April 2nd    

Want to start running? Sandbach Striders is a friendly club.  

They meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and Sundays at 9.30 am the latter for a 'long slow run' to be confirmed.
