What's On in Sandbach this weekend: Whisky festival, charity sing-a-long and rugby

It's a busy weekend ahead with a whisky festival, charity sing-a-long, live music and rugby.         

We've gone through and picked out a few but if we've missed anything please let us know.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday, September 15th

Sandbach Whisky Festival will feature over 200 malt whiskies to tempt tastebuds! It takes place at Sandbach Town Hall from 5 pm until 11 pm.

Whiskies from 110 Scottish Distilleries will be available including many rare and obscure drams from the likes of Allt-A-Bhainne, Balmenach, Kininvie, Glenlossie and Tormore, and the newer distilleries including Raasay, Arbikie, Clydeside, Dalmunach and Glasgow.

In addition there will be a Whisky auction of rare and collectable bottlings and one or two from long since demolished distilleries such as Glen Esk and Glenury. Other Whiskeys will include single grain, vatted malt, world malts and even one from Cheshire!

At St Mary's Church, there's an event with a different to raise money for Sandbach Foodbank and The Church Mission Project. Sing-a-Long Sister Act invites people to go along in fancy dress in their best 'habit'. The event starts at 6.30 pm and early bird tickets cost £12 from this link here

Saturday, September 16th

Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road has live rugby with the 3rd XV playing Didsby Toch H while the 1st XV and the 2nd XV are on the road and heading over to the Wirral.

At Sandbach United's first team are away to Brocton with a 3 pm kick-off.

At the Lion pub, The Anthill Mob are playing with a 9.30 pm start.

Sunday, September 17th

Dig It Dogs in Dubthorn Lane has a Just Eat Agility Show at 1 pm. The shows are small indoor shows limited to 40 people. More details on their Facebook page here
