It's a busy weekend with Sandbach Christmas Market, live rugby, football and music.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday, December 2nd     

Sandbach town centre will be alive with music and stalls on Friday (December 2nd) when the annual Christmas Market comes to town from 3 pm until 8pm.

The event is organised by Sandbach Town Council and will feature more than 100 stalls in Market Square, the High Street and the Market Hall.

Many town centre shops are offering late-night shopping as well as the Olive & Stitch Market inside Sandbach Town Hall.

Added to this, brass bands will be playing to bring festive cheer and add a real Christmas flavour to the night.

Saturday, December 3rd   

It's Rode Hall Christmas farmers market from 9 am until 1.30 pm. Over 70 indoor and outdoor artisan food and craft stalls with live music from Cor Bach, a local Capella choir, and Smallwood School choir. The courtyard kitchen will also be open serving breakfasts, brunches and homemade cakes. 

At Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road, the 1st XV are back on home soil and will take on Kirkby Lonsdale who will be making the trip down from the South Lakes.

Sandbach United Football Club's first team, The Ramblers, take on Wythemshawe Amateurs at 3 pm at the Hind Heath Road stadium.

In the evening, an award-winning singer songwriter who lives in Haslington, Rob Wheeler, performs a concert at St Bertoline's Church, Barthomley. Meanwhile the Lion in Sandbach has Wildflowers – an eclectic pop duo are back, bigger and better with the addition of a drummer which makes them a trio. They play at 9.30pm.

 Sunday, December 4th    

If running is your thing, Sandbach Striders is a running club for all abilities based out of Sandbach Rugby Club on Bradwall Road.

They meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and Sundays at 9.30 am the latter for a 'long slow run' to be confirmed.
