What's On in Sandbach this weekend: Coronation events, royal treasure hunt and Vegan fair

It's the Coronation weekend and there's lots happening – a Vegan fair, a royal treasure hunt, community coronation celebration and a big tea party.

We've gone through and picked out a few but if we've missed anything please let us know.

Every Thursday, we bring you our top picks of events in Sandbach happening over the coming weekend.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday, May 5th

Sandbach Town Council's royal treasure hunt is underway. Find the 40 kings, queens, princes and princesses hidden around the town, shops and market hall. Entry forms are available in participating shops, the town hall or market hall and should be returned to the post box in the market hall or town hall foyer. Closing date is May 10th.   

Saturday, May 6th    

Rode Hall May market takes place earlier as a one-off for the Coronation weekend from 8 am until 12 noon. There will be indoor and outdoor stalls full of artisan food and crafts. The orchard next to the barns will be open for picnics and the Work Shy Fops will be playing live. It's also the last two days of Rode Hall's Bluebell Walks.

Rode Hall's Bluebell Walks start on (Saturday 29th April) and run until 7th May 10-4pm (closed only 2 May). Tickets can be bought online https://beyonk.com/uk/us1p9ige/bluebell-walks-rode-hall-gardens?portal=true and on the gate. The house is also open for guided tours on Monday 1 May and & Wednesday 3 May.

Cheshire Vegan Fair takes place from 11am until 5pm at Sandbach Town Hall.

Helping you to live a better life with 30 stalls offering everything from vegan food and drink to natural beauty and handmade gifts. Live performances from Fantasy too. Hot and cold food will be served throughout the day. Admission is £1, pay on entrance, under 10s free.

At Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road, the town's big royal celebrations kick-off with Sandbach's Community Coronation Celebration, headlining Foden's Band, Audley Male Voice Choir and Wirral Pipe and Drum Band. The gates open at 3 pm and entry is via a wristband. Read the story here

Sunday, May 7th

There's a big tea party with the live screening of the Coronation Music Concert at Sandbach Rugby Club. You can take your own food or pre-order a special afternoon tea for two from Symphony Hospitality. No gazebos, glass or alcohol to be taken on to the site.

Monday, May 8th

Sandbach Partnership, together with two of its forum members, Sandbach Clean Team and Friends of Sandbach Station, have launched a community volunteering opportunity. The initiative, Big Help Out Sandbach: Pick, Plant and Paint.

Open to all, the activities will run from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm followed by light refreshments at St Mary's Church Hall.

Events are taking place in other parts of Sandbach on this day including the Church on Ettiley Heath which has music, cake and gardening. Visitors are being invited to help out in the community garden while listening to live music. Bacon baps are being served at lunch time to raise money for Ettiley Heath playing field.
