It's a Bank Holiday weekend ahead and lots happening -

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday, August 25th  

A three-day ale, cider and sausage festival starts on Friday at Sandbach United in Hind Heath Road. The Sandbach United Ale, Cider and Sausage Festival takes place all weekend. Ben Cornes is live on from 7 pm. Ten ales, six ciders and five sausage varieties.

Saturday, August 26th

Hassall near Alsager has its summer fete with classic vehicles, classic tractors, a bouncy castle, music and much more. It's on from 2 pm until 5 pm. Adults are £2.50 and under 12s free. Cash only.

Sandbach Rugby Club start the Cheshire Cup campaign with Sandbach travelling to Paton Field to play Caldy. This is a new format for the competition, with three group games scheduled - the group leaders will play in the Cup Final later in 2024. Other games in the competition will be against Macclesfield and Northwich: both will link up as league and cup 'double headers'. It's a 3pm kick-off. More details on the club's Facebook page here

At Sandbach United's CrossBar, there's the continuation of the Ale, Cider and Sausage Festival with a DJ set.

The Lion pub in High Street has The Wildflowers playing live from 9.30 pm.

Sunday, August 27th

The Shannon Louise Dance Academy in Station Yard, Station Road, Elworth has an open day from 12 pm until 2.30 pm as we revealed in our story here

The Military Arms in Congleton Road has Calum McGregor playing from 4 pm.

Monday, August 28th
