Work is continuing on the revamp of Sandbach's Small Common car park.

The car park is currently fenced off and closed until September, around seven weeks, while the project takes place.

Sandbach Nub News told last week here how the car park looks set to be closed for seven weeks.

The car park is being resurfaced with high quality tarmac to reduce annual maintenance costs, 21 relined parking spaces (including four disabled spaces) are being provided and telescopic bollards placed to enhance safety and road use enforcement

A bike rack is also being installed, a bench and four additional planters to enhance the look and feel of the area.

Cllr Donal Hegarty, chair of the Small Common sub-committee said:" Once the work is done, the area will be smarter, safer and cheaper to run.

"We have also increased the number of disabled parking bays and provided additional cycling facilities within the town as part of the development – I look forward to seeing the finished product."
