Members of the Royal British Legion Sandbach branch and the Cheshire Regiment Association laid wreaths at Sandbach's War Memorial to celebrate the Armed Forces Day.

Marjorie Newton, Chairman of Royal British Legion Sandbach and President of the branch, Tom Price Jones, laid wreaths along with one from the Cheshire Regiment Association.

Rev Bee Boyde Vicar of St Mary's Church, Sandbach, said prayers and spoke about the importance of the day, showing support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.

The event was a scaled down version of the normal parade through the town due to Covid restrictions but was still observed by several on-lookers.

"We're adhering to Covid restrictions," said Marjorie Newton. The Standard was carried by Craig Roughley.
