MOTORISTS are being advised to keep clear of the M6 near Sandbach and Crewe following a three-vehicle collision earlier today (Friday).

National Highways said northbound carriageway between junction 16 Crewe/Stoke and junction 17 Sandbach is not expected to reopen before a police investigation is completed into the collision between a HGV, a van and a car at 9.50am.

A Sandbach man is busy adding the finishing touches his musical fundraising night tomorrow (Saturday) as part of a major project to help families in Kenya which has already raised over £1 million.

Dad-of-two Colin Dalton from Wheelock is the lead fundraiser of the North West based New Hope Support Group, a group of like-minded individuals who have dedicated time and effort to supporting a community based in Upland, Kenya.

Firefighters and staff from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service welcomed HRH The Earl of Wessex to the county today to officially open the new the £11 million state-of-the-art training centre.

The Earl was greeted by Chair of Cheshire Fire Authority Cllr Bob Rudd and he was given a guided tour of the multi-million pound facility in Winsford.
