Congleton MP Fiona Bruce has thrown her weight behind a massive campaign to extend Sandbach's cemetery and stop town residents being buried elsewhere.

A massive 4,405 residents have signed a petition to Cheshire East Council demanding that land next to the fast-filling cemetery be used as an extension.

Shoppers heading to the Co-op's Middlewich Road store in Sandbach will now be able to recycle soft plastics – thanks to a new unit which has just been installed.

The Co-op has launched soft plastic units in 1,500 of its stores and the Middlewich Road one is one of the sites.

The High Sheriff of Cheshire has urged residents across the county to get their vaccine jab when offered.

John Wilbraham, CEO at East Cheshire NHS Trust, the organisation which operates the borough's mass vaccination centre at Alderley Park, received a High Sheriff's Award from Robert Mee DL on behalf of everyone involved in the local Covid-19 Vaccination Programme.
