Sandbach United will look to make it four games without a loss as they welcome Eccleshall to Hind Heath Road on Saturday afternoon.
The Cheshire side dropped their first points of the NWCFL season away to Ellesmere Rangers last weekend but given the circumstances and only equalising in the 92nd minute, many fans were happy with the point to a team they've historically struggled against on the road.
Sandbach find themselves sitting at the top of the NWCFL South table, with a superior goal difference over the other sides level on points.
Top scorer Bobbie McDonnell has notched 5 goals in 3 games so far, including the late equaliser against Ellesmere to continue his record of scoring in every league game so far this campaign.
He has become almost undroppable for manager Andy Hockenhull and looks lethal in front of goal for the Ramblers. For an Eccleshall defence that have conceded an average of 2 goals a game this season, visiting fans will know to fear the young forward as he looks to continue his rich vein of form.
The hosts have an almost fully fit squad with no fresh injury concerns since the Ellesmere match. Creative midfielder Aaron Knight missed the away trip due to a persistent foot injury, but fans will be hoping he has recovered to don the blue and white again on Saturday afternoon.
Striker Steve Jones has missed the first three games of the campaign with a groin injury, whilst Robbie Hatton is also nursing a hand injury but should be available for selection.
Eccleshall are currently 15th in the league table after they began the season with a 2-1 loss away to newcomers Rocester, before beating Stafford side Brocton 3-2 in an enthralling first half goal-fest at home.
Their latest result was a 2-0 loss to Stockport Town. Jack Dundas is their top scorer with 2 goals so far this season, so Sandbach will have to keep him under wraps to boost their chances of success at the weekend.
Historically, the visitors have generally struggled against Sandbach United, with their last 8 meetings resulting in 6 wins for the Ramblers. However, the last meeting between the sides resulted in a 2-1 win for Eccleshall, with ex-Sandbach striker Tom Wakefield scoring in that fixture.
The match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 14th August at Hind Heath Road, with both sides looking to notch another victory in what will prove to be a challenging season ahead.
