The new manager of the Co-op's Lawton Way store in Sandbach is hoping to be awash with success at a fundraising event this weekend for children.

Colin Mason and colleagues are taking part in the Sahara/Toubkal Co-op Trek in February next year for Barnardo's.

On Saturday (September 9th) his store is holding a charity car wash with a raffle, football card and tombola from 10 am until 2 pm, to help fundraise.

Sandbach Mayor, Councillor Laura Crane, will be opening the car wash at 10 am.

"The Lawton Way store has such a big car park which is ideal for a car wash," said Colin.

"I will be getting involved too and we hope to raise as much money as possible to go towards the Sahara/Toubkal Co-op Trek in aid of Barnardo's."

Barnardo's, the UK's largest children's charity, is the Co-op's new charity partner and is a charity close to Colin's heart.

He added: "As a father myself it will be empowering to think I am completing this challenge to help support children and families across the country to give them a better life.
