A Sandbach church has come up with a clever idea of making the summer last longer in its outdoor area.

The Church on Ettiley Heath has painted small stones different colour and is arranging them in a shape of a flower outside.

Junior members of the church in Elton Road painted the stones during a 'Creation Tide' service on Sunday.

Now the stones are being put outside in the outdoor area to bring some colour during the winter months.

And the church has something else to celebrate – it has received the bronze award for 2023 as an 'Eco Church'.

The awards are organised by Eco Church and churches have to complete a survey about how they are caring for the earth in different areas pf their life and work.

A spokesperson for the Church on Ettiley Heath, which has a Facebook page here , said they were delighted to receive the award.
