An 11-year-old schoolgirl from Sandbach has had her locks cut – to raise money for the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis and The Little Princess Trust.
Vintage Hair Salon owner, Sian Taylor, in Welles Street, Sandbach, donated her time to cut and restyle Bethwyn Cotton's hair.
Now the brave Offley Primary Academy pupil is supporting a new shorter hairstyle after having 22 inches of her 28 inch flowing hair chopped off.
The Year 6 pupil said: "I've been wanting to do this for ages. It feels lovely and I'm helping others."
Bethwyn joked to her mum, Hannah Cotton, that she would now be able to feel "the wind on her neck".
Mum, Hannah, set up a JustGiving page for people to make donations in support of her daughter's brave move which will go to the Ukrainian crisis and the Little Princess Trust.
Bethwyn became friends with a Ukrainian family recently and wanted to help as many people as possible with what she had been "gifted naturally".
Sian Taylor added: "I'm so proud of Bethwyn. I was delighted to help and it's such a good cause.
"The hair will be sent off to The Little Princess Trust for their wigs. It's such a great cause."
Wendy Tarplee-Morris, Founder of The Little Princess Trust, said: "We are so grateful to Bethwyn for thinking of us and the young people with hair loss that we support.
"Our longest wigs remain our most popular and so Bethwyn's huge donation of hair really will be a massive help as we continue to provide our free wig provision service to so many children and young people."
