Sandbach Nub News is delighted to announce the launch of our new obituaries section as part of our continued commitment to building strong ties with the local community.

As an online local newspaper sitting right at the heart of the town, we have partnered with Sandbach's Williams and Lowe Independent Funeral Directors to offer this new service to their clients.

Obituaries have always been a fundamental part of local newspapers, so we are excited to be "bringing obituaries back to life" for Sandbach Nub News.

Obituaries can be any length, include up to 10 images and will be published completely free of charge on the Sandbach Nub News website.

Family and friends can view and share the entries, which will remain on the obituaries section.

There is also the option to include a link to a charity or crowdfunding page if the family is requesting donations in memory of their loved one.

Williams and Lowe first opened its doors in 2004 under the ownership of Godfrey Williams and Caroline Lowe.

Following their retirement from the business, Godfrey's son Peter Williams took the reins in 2017 and has since been joined by his three sons, Steven, Andrew and Tom.

The independent funeral service provides families with a thorough personalised service for their loved one from start to finish with the funeral arrangements.

Peter said: "We're excited and proud to be offering this new service with Nub News to our clients and the people of Sandbach."

Steven added that the additional digital obituary service would especially be appreciated during these difficult times for families when numbers attending funerals are limited.

As a caring family-run business serving Sandbach and surrounding areas, Williams and Lowe takes care of every detail, advise, and help families on every step of the way to ensure all their needs are catered for.

Peter said: "We mean it when we say it's our privilege to care for you. I have been born and bred in this town; I've gone to school here; played football here, I've been here all my life. I know a lot of people, they're all my peers and just to be part of looking after them at their time of need is the biggest privilege you can have."

Williams and Lowe will offer their help and services from the moment you need it, day or night, with phone lines open 24/7.

They pride themselves in making the whole process smooth and respectful. This ensures that the lives of loved ones are celebrated and that families are supported throughout their bereavement.

Steven said: "I'm really proud to work with my family in this business and immensely proud of the work we do. While it's not the usual job for someone my age, it is a very rewarding one."

Williams and Lowe moved into their new purpose-built premises close to Sandbach town centre on Congleton Road in January and remain open for clients, even during the lockdown.
