Charity shop celebrates 1st birthday with a visit from the mayor and the ex-mayor

Sandbach Animal Rescue Society has celebrated its first birthday in style with a fun-filled event.

The George's Walk shop has now been open a year and to celebrate the charity has launched their 'fundraiser £1 for 1' raising much needed funds for kitten season is link is here https://pay.sumup.com/b2c/Q4I251PM

On Saturday (April 6th) Mayor of Sandbach, Councillor Laura Crane, and last year's mayor, Councillor Kathryn Flavell, went along to join in the celebrations.

The shop now new eye-catching windows from Alsager artist, Vanessa Lumley-Wood, who has worked her wonders on the windows once again. 

The windows at the charity's shop are dressed with a variety of famous cats from 'The Cat in the Hat' to Garfield and the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

The forward-thinking charity, which holds regular coffee mornings and other events, is continuously raising money, with events showcasing on their Facebook page here

The charity has been running for over 40 years but it's the first time it has opened a shop as we revealed in our story here
