Police have revealed that the death of a man in the car park at Sandbach Railway Station is not being treated as suspicious.

British Transport Police were called to Sandbach railway station at around 7am on Thursday (14 May) after a man was found "unresponsive" in the car park.

Police responded with paramedics but despite their best efforts the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said today: "The incident is not being treated as suspicious, there won't be any further updates from us on this."

Eye witness reports said the main car park entrance was open earlier but the steps leading from the bridge on London Road were cordoned off.
