Detailed improvement plan in place at school which received 'inadequate' Oftsted grading
Education bosses at Cheshire East Council say they are working with the interim headteacher and all those involved after a Sandbach primary school received an 'inadequate' Ofsted report.
The council has reassured parents saying there is a detailed improvement plan in place with several immediate actions which have already been addressed.
Among the issues raised in the latest Ofsted report for St Johns Church of England Primary School as reported here were safeguarding concerns and the school not identifying the additional needs of pupils with SEND accurately.
In the Early years provision, the school received a 'requires improvement' grade.
Claire Williamson, Director of Education at Cheshire East Council said: "We can understand that parents are disappointed with the recent inspection findings, and want to offer assurance that the council took immediate action to offer the appropriate support to the school in the days after the inspection.
"In response to the report we have appointed an interim headteacher to cover the sickness of the current headteacher and now have a detailed school improvement plan in place, with several immediate actions that have already been addressed.
"Cheshire East will continue to work closely with the interim headteacher, the Diocese of Chester, the new appointed governing board, staff and parents.
"We are all committed to continuing to work together to ensure that the children of St John's receive the highest education, are well supported, and are safe in school."
