Disney deal for Jackie after Sandbach fame
The celebrity of Jackie Weaver continues to rise - and we couldn't be more proud of her.
Jackie shot to fame in Sandbach earlier this year when she branded one councillor a "disgrace" following his outburst at a Sandbach Town Council meeting.
The 62 year old, who infamously booted the chair of Handforth Parish Council from a Zoom meeting that went viral, said that incidents like that outshine the "fabulous" work of town councils.
"His language was inappropriate. Nobody should swear like that in a council meeting no matter how frustrated you are and secondly, the way he spoke over the female councillor was completely unacceptable," she said.
Jackie is head of the Cheshire Association of Local Councils (ChALC), which has been assisting Sandbach Town Council on issues relating to the outburst in Sandbach.
She has called on the government to give local authorities more power to deal with unruly councillors who commit "appalling behaviour".
But now Jackie has a new role – and its comes as she has dressed up as the horror monster, in a paid promotion for the return of TV show The Walking Dead.
All previous ten seasons of American television show will be shown in the UK on Star, which is part of the Disney+ streaming service.
Weaver has launched new zombie Zoom filters, to allow anyone the authority to do as they wish during a video call.
The local democracy champion said on social media:
"If you've been feeling downright dead after a day of work video calls, or feeling the need to bite your colleagues head off. Then I'm here to help and tell you about a brand new service.
"If like me, you're feeling DEAD TIRED of incessant video calls, you can book one of my zombie friends to take your place.
"To celebrate seasons 1-10 of The Walking Dead landing on Star on Disney Plus on July 2, we've launched the new service so you can duck out of meetings to tune in."
The eleventh and final season of The Walking Dead will also be available to watch online from next month.
The zombified Weaver advertisement follows a high-profile cameo at The Brit Awards earlier this year.
She has 30,000 followers on Twitter @jackieweaver.
