Motorists faced delays last week after a four-way traffic light system in Middlewich Road near Aldi in Sandbach left tail-backs.

The work was completed by Friday (August 30th) and today the provider SP Energy Networks apologised to motorists for any inconvenience.

An SP Energy Networks spokesperson told Nub News said: "On Saturday 24 August a cable fault occurred causing the loss of supply to some our customers in the Sandbach area.

"Power was restored to all of our customers within 2 hours of the power cut, however our teams needed to investigate the fault.

"Works to investigate and fix the fault began on Tuesday 27 August and finished on the morning of 29 August. Our contractors are currently working to reinstate the road and aim to have this completed by the evening of Monday, 2 September.

"We are very sorry to our customers who lost supply and also to those who have been impacted by the temporary traffic management as we worked to find and fix the fault."
