Sandbach United have announced an exciting three-year sponsorship deal with long-time affiliate Planet Environmental that sees the waste management business sponsor the shirt of every team at the club.

Planet Environmental is to become the Hind Heath Road club's official sponsor, in addition to the sponsorship already provided for the first team.

Owner Wayne Burton said "I feel proud to be on board here. I've been with the club for a number of years and seen it go from strength to strength every season, with the first team now playing at a semi-professional level.

"It's an honour for me personally to be involved with this club and I share the vision that we have here at Sandbach United."

Sandbach United Club Chairman, Pete Colclough, said how the deal helps put the town on the map in a very positive light. "With the kits being provided by The Uniform Group, it's now a local club with a local sponsor and kit from a local supplier.

"It's a great fit and shows the steps we've made as a club and shows how involved we are in the local community. It's good for Sandbach all round."

First team manager Andy Hockenhull believes the deal creates better footballing opportunities and atmosphere at the club, saying: "We've tried to build and maintain the feeling of 'one club' here and this just makes that even stronger.

"The kids have the same shirt and same sponsor now as the first team players and that really makes them feel part of it. There is a unity between the first team and the junior section here, it's all as one for all the teams and that's such a good thing for the club; it's brilliant."

Planet Environmental owner Wayne Burton said he also considered Sandbach's recent national recognition as another factor in agreeing the new sponsorship.

He said: "It's brilliant for Planet that we can be involved here with more than just the first team. Sandbach were National Grassroots Club of the Year in 2020 and now to have our sponsorship on every team within the club really shows how invested we are in the club and how much we believe in the club as a whole."

Planet Environmental have been involved with Sandbach United's the first team for almost 10 years.
