The popular Holmes Chapel Christmas Market and fair is returning this weekend ( 7 December).

The much-loved event is being hosted by community organisation, Holmes Chapel Partnership, which has been working tirelessly since the summer to ensure this year's Christmas Market & Fair is as good as ever.

Thanks to generous sponsorships from local organisations: Bespak, Duttons Builders Merchants, Holmes Chapel Parish Council, Hurstwood Holdings, Massey Feeds, Newtons MOT Centre, Joe White's Fun Fairs, Hipswing, Laura Wilson School of Dance, Top Secret Furniture, and The Villages Mag, the not-for-profit event is shaping up to be a not-to-be-missed evening.

Following the success of previous events, this year's Christmas Market & Fair, which takes place on Sunday (7 December) will see the return of the Festive Fairground on the car park behind Tesco with a choice of games and thrills to keep children, teenagers and the young at heart entertained!

Holmes Chapel's main road, The Square, will be closed to traffic (from the roundabouts adjacent to Don Alberto restaurant down to and including Parkway) and will be brought to life with over 40 festive stalls.

Together with a further ten stalls located inside the Scout Hall, visitors can enjoy the return of popular local vendors, alongside new faces and products. It is the perfect place to find Christmas gifts, while also supporting local businesses and organisations.

Festive performances by local groups and schools will take place on the stage near St. Luke's Church, with music and announcements provided by Dane Sound. Santa Claus will also be out on his sleigh to meet the children.

Many Holmes Chapel shops and venues have also extended their festive spirit to the event by staying open for Sunday evening and offering their ever-popular products to visitors.

Last year's Christmas Market & Fair was fantastic and the highlight of the year for many residents in Holmes Chapel," commented Gail Griggs, Events Coordinator for Holmes Chapel Partnership. "We are incredibly excited to bring the whole community together for an evening of festive celebrations. Please come along and support our wonderful village."

Local publication The Villages Mag is once again supporting Holmes Chapel by designing a free map and pull-out guide to the event which will be featured in the December edition of its magazine.

Holmes Chapel Partnership would welcome more volunteers to help with the smooth running of this year's event. Please visit www.hcpartnership.org.uk or get in touch with the team on [email protected]

The Christmas Market & Fair is open from 3-7pm on Sunday 7 December.

Entry is free but donations to Holmes Chapel Partnership can be made on the evening to Santa's Helpers to help cover the event's running costs.
