Firefighters called to extinguish a car on fire near a house

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to being a fire in a car alight in Hermitage Lane, Cranage near Sandbach.

Two fire engines, one from Holmes Chapel and the other from Knutsford went to the blaze at 7.18 pm last night (Tuesday)

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "A car was well alight affecting the exterior of the nearby property. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to bring the fire spread under control.

"A full internal survey of the property and its roof space was carried out using the thermal imaging camera."
