Firefighters called to house in Sandbach after candle left in the kitchen catches fire

One fire engine from Crewe went to a property in Mill Pool Way after a candle left on a cooker ignited with melted wax spilling over.

Firefighters were called to the property at 1.55 pm yesterday (Sunday).

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters extinguished the fire using a damp towel and naturally ventilated the property."
