Firefighters tackle engine blaze at Sandbach services on M6

One fire engine from Middlewich went to a car fire at Sandbach services on the M6.

The incident happened at 12.14 pm on Saturday (3 October).

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were called to a car fire on the southbound side of Sandbach services.

"They found a fire involving the engine compartment which was already out, so used a hose reel to cool the area down before monitoring with a thermal imaging camera."
