Former Sandbach Cricket Club player selected to play for England against the West Indies

Sports Coaching Group's Tilly Kesteven is set to take another major step in her cricket career this weekend – after being selected to represent an England Development team in a match against a West Indies XI side.
The game takes place this Sunday at the Kent Spitfire Ground in Canterbury, offering a prime stage for Tilly, one of the region's most exciting young players.
The University of Loughborough student has also put in solid performances for the Lancashire Thunder Academy team.
Tilly also plays for Porthill Cricket Club in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League and played at Sandbach Cricket Club in both junior and senior cricket.
Tilly, who coaches with Sports Coaching Group alongside her own playing commitments, has been in outstanding form over the past year – most recently delivering a match-winning performance for an England XI in the Women's European Cricket Championship (ECC-W) Premier Division.
Held at the Cartama Oval in Spain from December 15 to 20, 2024, the tournament brought together five of Europe's strongest sides.
Tilly stood out as the tournament's leading player, scoring 221 runs, including a cool-headed 59 not out in the final against the Netherlands.
Her innings was pivotal in chasing down a tricky target of 87, sealing England XI's second consecutive title.

She also impressed with a 71 against Ireland earlier in the competition and was duly named Player of the Tournament – recognition of both her consistency and her ability to perform under pressure.
Now, the talented all-rounder is preparing to face a West Indies team known for its flair and aggression.
The opportunity to test herself against international opposition is another exciting chapter in a career that continues to build momentum.
At Sports Coaching Group, Tilly has already become a role model for young cricketers.
"We're incredibly proud of Tilly," said Chris Regan, Operations Director for Sports Coaching Group.
"We first met Tilly when we coached her cricket when she was in Year 5 at school, so to see her progress, and to think we helped her on her way, is a great feeling.
"She's a fantastic coach and a brilliant player – we'll all be cheering her on this Sunday!"
Fans can watch the match live or follow updates via the England and Kent Cricket social media channels.
