Local school's clever fundraising scoop cools down students and staff amid sizzling sun

Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College has launched a fundraising campaign to raise around £30,000 to build a new outdoor shelter for students.
And students at the Middlewich Road school, who are helping with the campaign. found the recent hot weather helped boost funds.
A group got together to help organise for a local icecream van to come to the school and then helped serve and make icecreams for the long queues which formed to enjoy their favourite summer treat.

And Crewe-based world-leading ice cream firm sent a van to the school last week and served up icecreams to over 400 students and staff.
A school spokesperson said: "Thank you to Ed Whitby from Whitby Morrison for kindly coming. Over 400 students (and lots of staff too) queued up beautifully on Wednesday lunchtime raising £475 which has been really kindly rounded up to £600 by Mr Whitby supporting our fundraising for the shelter.

"We are so grateful for Mr Whitby's generosity and kindness giving his time and materials for free to support us. Well done to Jessica, Bella and Phoebe for supporting in the making of the ice creams and organising the day."
Donations are coming into the GoFund campaign here which have already reached £3,459.
