James' amazing January challenge work will feature in an exhibition later this month (February).

A renowed local artist who has spent the whole of January painting beautiful scenes of the town is to see his work go on show at Sandbach Town Hall.

James Anderson Rogers painted a different image each day of the town and area, come rain or shine, in plein air – outside, with his 'Strada Easel Challenge' during January.

Now his work is to go on show on the weekend of February 22nd - 23rd in the Boardroom at Sandbach Town Hall and local residents are invited to attend.

And the exhibition will not only feature his 'Strada Easel Challenge' but also other work which the talented artist, who Nub News has featured reguarly as seen here , has created.

James said: "The idea of an exhibition had been suggested, on and off, for quite some time now and I hadn't felt the time was quite right but during January, while I was painting every day, I did start to think it would be a good time to finally consider it seriously.

"Of course, when people started to mention it to me as well, that confirmed it. To show you all of the January paintings together would be great but in addition, I hope to display a number of other paintings produced during the last eighteen months or so, some even older and space permitting, a small number of my pencil drawings, which for those of you who are unfamiliar with them, are very different to my impressionistic plein air paintings.

"All paintings will be for sale at the exhibition. I might do a little preview on my Facebook Page as some have already sold but are kindly being made available to display. My Facebook Page is James Anderson Rogers Artist

"Thanks once again and hope to see you at the exhibition."

Mayor, Councillor Ann Nevitt, told Nub N ews previously: "He's such a talented man. The painting he did in Sandbach Cemetery of the War Memorial is fantastic."

He used a variety of locations from Chapel Street to Bold Street, Sandbach Park to Crewe Road in Winterley/Haslington looking down Kents Green Lane.

James has found that his art work helps to keep him healthy in mind and body. He was diagnosed with dyspraxia as a youngster and in later life found out he had Type 1 Diabetes.

The studio of his Ettiley Heath home in Elton Road remains his gallery showcase along but his work can also be seen on his Facebook page here and his Instagram account here , along with the 'Strada Easel Challenge'.
