A society with its roots very much in Sandbach is holding its annual general meeting this weekend.

Foden Trucks was a big employer in the town and the society set up in its honour, the Foden Society, is holding its annual general meeting on Sunday (October 29th).

The society, which has members from across the world, celebrated its 30th anniversary year as we revealed here with an open day event.

On Sunday, members of the society will converge on Goostrey Village Hall for the meeting which starts at 11 am with doors opening at 10 am.

Guest speaker is Rob Lawton on Foden special vehicles and onwards and more details can be obtained from a special Facebook page link here

In April, an army of Foden trucks and vehicles headed 'home' as revealed here – for the annual Sandbach Transport Festival, in the town where it all started.

Elworth in Sandbach was the home of the British truck firm, Foden, which dates back to 1856. Paccar acquired the company in 1980, and ceased to use the marque name in 2006.
