It’s official – Sandbach library is a dementia-friendly place
Sandbach library has been formally recognised for its work to make Sandbach dementia friendly.
With the support of local community group Dementia Friendly Sandbach, the library has been recognised by the Alzheimer's Society for their development as a dementia friendly organisation.
To celebrate this, Dementia Friendly Sandbach presented a recognition certificate to the library on The Commons in Sandbach.
Dave Whitworth, Chair of Dementia Friendly Sandbach said: "The library has been very supportive of our aims.
"Last autumn we carried out a joint environmental audit of the library as a dementia friendly space, with most of the findings, primarily to do with improved signage, having been addressed.

"We also ran a Dementia Friends Information session for a number of the library staff, including staff from Alsager library, and we hope to run another session later this year.
"The library has also been very helpful in allowing us to have an information desk at times like Dementia Awareness Week and Carers' Week.
"It is great to be able to recognise their support in this way."
Sandbach library manager Rowena Gomersall said: "Staff at Sandbach library are delighted to receive this certificate.
They work hard to ensure everyone feels welcome in our library."
