The NHS is 75 years' old tomorrow (Wednesday) and one local business has a special reason to be holding a 'Cuppa and Connect' event.

Right at Home South Cheshire's managing director, Ben Selby, endured a scary moment recently when one of his children needed life support.

Grayson Selby was rushed to Alder Hey Hospital from Leighton Hospital in June where he spent time in the intensive care unit on a ventilator.

"Thankfully he was finally able to respond to the medications and was able to start recovering and was removed from the ventilator," said Ben.

"We're incredibly grateful for the care and support we received during such a difficult time.

"Our little boy's recovery is a testament to the amazing nurses and doctors who dedicated their expertise and compassion to his well-being."

And tomorrow (Wednesday) Right at Home staff at the Sandbach office will be helping to thank the NHS with a special event.

The office at the Literary Institute in Hightown is holding a 'Cuppa & Connect' event in celebration of the NHS 75th Birthday from 10 am until 2 pm.

The event aims to bring the community together for a morning filled with warmth, laughter, connection and fundraising efforts.

In addition to the refreshments, games and fun activities, they will be busting common myths about homecare.

The Cuppa & Connect event will also serve as a fundraising initiative for the Children and Adolescent Unit at local Leighton Hospital in Crewe which is led by Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity.

Emma Robertson, charity manager at Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity said: "NHS Big Tea is such an important event for us, especially as this year we come together across the country to celebrate the 75th anniversary of our amazing NHS.

"We are so grateful to the Right at Home team for choosing to support the charity by holding an event to celebrate the occasion."
