Police discover body of man off main road in nearby town

Cheshire Police officers have discovered the body of a man on a street in Crewe - following concerns from the public for his welfare.

At around 6:40am on Thursday 16 March, police were called to an area of Gresty Road due to concerns for the welfare of a man.

Cheshire Police officers quickly arrived at the scene - discovering the man had died.

A path connecting Gresty Road with Crewe Road was cordoned off while Cheshire Police officers dealt with the incident (Ryan Parker).

Police believe the death was not suspicious.

A case file will now be prepared for the coroner.

Later on Thursday, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "At around 6.40am on Thusday 16 March, police were called to concerns for the welfare of a man on Gresty Road, Crewe. 

Cheshire Police said the death of the man was not believed to be suspicious (Ryan Parker).

"Officers attended the scene and found that the man had sadly passed away. 

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner."
