Praise heaped on students for their 'remarkable resilience' as A-Level and BTEC results revealed

Students at Sandbach School have been praised for their "remarkable resilience" and achievement in today's A-Level and BTEC
Headteacher Sarah Burns said: "Staff and Governors would like to congratulate Sandbach School sixth form students on the way that they have conducted themselves and to also thank parents for their continued support.
"The hard work that the students have demonstrated throughout the last two years has certainly paid off."
The headteacher's comments have been echoed by Harry Bromley from the Head Boy and Girl Team.
"It has been brilliant to see so many students receiving that grades that they wanted for university following their hard work and commitment," he said.
"It has been a great end to the Sandbach School journey and I am looking forward to studying Politics and International Relations at the University of Birmingham and I'd like to wish everyone else well on their chosen path."
Notable achievements include, Harry Bromley, Daniel Cooper, Harrison Field, Joshua Higgins, James Ker, Ellie McGlincy, Kasia Podhordecka and Jakub Slapek who all achieved an impressive mixture of 3 A* and A Grades.
Of equal recognition are the results of Mike Rzepka, Callum Gibson, Joel Royal, Anna Beech, Ryan Petford, Jacob Aston O'Donovan and Thomas Griffin who achieved a number of Distinction* and Distinction grades in BTEC Business and Sport and Exercise Science.
"Once again, we have a record number of students going on to study music at a range of Conservatoires," said a spokesperson.
"Hopefully more students will follow in their footsteps next year, following the successful introduction of the specialist music course which has links to the Royal Northern College of Music."
Students are heading off to a wide range of locations including; Sam Mitchell who will be reading Civil Engineering at the University of Liverpool, Billy McCourt is off to study Business, Accounting and Finance at Newcastle University and Rebecca Davies will be reading English Language and Linguistics at Cardiff. Sammy Brotherstone and Gianni Martone have also been accepted onto degree level apprenticeships with Siemens.
"We would like to wish all of our students the very best as they embark upon the next stage of their lives," the spokesperson added.
