School children in Sandbach are taking part in a project to help shape the future of their town.

The youngsters have been tasked with coming up with ideas for their town as we revealed in our story here and today (Tuesday) they presented some of the ideas to Sandbach Town Council.

Pupils from Offley Primary Academy and Elworth Church of England Primary School went to Sandbach Town Hall to present their ideas to councillors.

And their ideas - which range from sensory equipment in Sandbach park to a wall of positive messages to benches with welcome messages - were well received by councillors.

Sandbach Mayor, Councillor Ann Nevitt, chaired the meeting saying: "We really appreciate you coming. You are the future of Sandbach - our future - and your ideas are important."
