Police, residents and councillors raised safety concerns about worn-away road markings at a busy Sandbach junction months ago and still Cheshire East has not sorted it, a town councillor said.
Town councillor Nicola Cook said she first reported her serious safety concerns about the junction near Sandbach Station at Elworth in August.

She said Cheshire Police had also notified the council, but to no avail.
"The stop markings at the traffic lights are completely worn away, which means that cars stop too far up the road. HGVs turning down this blind corner then do not have enough space to turn, meaning that you have to reverse back round the blind corner into the busy road or cars have to reverse back across the pedestrian crossing. It is dangerous," Cllr Cook told Wednesday's meeting of Cheshire East Council.
"I reported this issue on Fix My Street on August 1st, and on August 17th. I received confirmation that this work would be undertaken urgently. This work has not been completed.
"I understand that borough councillor Kathryn Flavell has also chased this report and, again was told it was urgent, but the work has not yet been planned to be undertaken.
"I've raised my concerns with Cheshire Police. They agreed that they are significantly concerned about this junction and they notified Cheshire East Council of their concerns in September. Still no action.
"I've also raised the issue with the Cheshire East highways officer who agreed that the situation was dangerous and has also raised the issue as a category A safety concern. Still no action.
"I reported this issue five months ago. It's been accepted as urgent. Cheshire Police and your own highways officer have also raised this as an urgent issue."
Cllr Craig Browne, chair of Cheshire East's highways and transport committee, said temporary warning signs are now in place.
"I can confirm that the works to undertake the permanent refurbishment of the stop line and other lining works at the junction are planned for between December 19 and 21," he said.
"The exact date will be subject to permits and temporary traffic management approvals being in place following a series of conflict checks and other works in the area. A temporary white line will be put down this week at the stop line only, whilst the permanent works are being programmed."
Cllr Flavell was not at Wednesday's meeting but issued a statement afterwards to say: "After reporting this issue several times through various channels, it took a meeting with the head of highways to get this work prioritised.
"With a bit of joined-up thinking this could have been done while teams were out doing line painting 50 yards away on Booth Lane at the end of the summer, saving both time and money. I have been assured that this will happen in the future."
