A Sandbach mum is hoping to help young people get on the road to success with a clever goal mapping tool she learnt during lock down.

Lynda Bradbury, whose husband Kurt, founded Fast 'n' Funded specialist car finance company in Elworth, is hoping to break the mould for future generations.

She used the goal mapping tool developed by Brian Mayne on her 19-year-old son and so impressed with it, she decided to qualify in it herself.

Now the community-minded employer who has taken on an apprentice at the Station Road business wants to help others.

A goal map

"I used goal mapping for my son when he was really young and carried on throughout his life," said Lynda, operations director.

"I saw some of the challenges he and others were facing and decided to do something to help.

"Goal mapping helpings you strengthen your mindset and believe in yourself."

Lynda's 19-year-old son passed his exams and now works for an air and sea freight company at Manchester Airport using a variety of skills.

So impressed with what Lynda had achieved with her son that she decided to train as a practitioner for the goal mapping technique.

And not stopping at her son's brilliant progress, Lynda is now using the tool with young staff taken on by the Station Road company.

Nineteen-year-old Guy Yearn, an apprentice and junior content producer with the business, says goal mapping is helping him achieve success.

"It explores what it is you want to achieve and how you plan to do it. It looks at life balance and gives you a way forward."

Goal mapping has also been used to help a 17-year-old Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College student working at the business.

Lynda now plans to hold an evening at Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road to demonstrate to youngsters how goal mapping can help.

"I want to give something back to the community and help young people find a way forward," said Lynda.

"It is about believing in yourself and looking at how you can achieve what you to do in your life."

Lynda has set up a an email address for anyone wanting to contact her about goal mapping - [email protected]
