A popular Cheshire cheesecake shop in Sandbach indoor market is expanding later this month - on the same street its business owner lived on for six years.

Rainbow Cheesecakes & Sweet Treats will be opening on Bramhall Road this November - with a target opening date of Saturday (November 12).

Currently operating at Sandbach Market Hall, the dessert shop sells cheesecakes, blondies, brownies, millionaires shortbread, old-school sponge, pick and mix and fudge.

"I've lived in Crewe forever and previously on Bramhall Road for six years. This premises was advertised and I thought wouldn't it would be funny to work on the same street," says business owner Jenni Grist.

Miss Grist started her dessert business in lockdown and baked cheesecakes - first giving them to neighbours.

The cheesecakes quickly became popular among Miss Grist's family and friends - all encouraging her to turn it into a business.

Miss Grist told Nub News: "I had a second child on the way and didn't really have the time or the money but I carried on regardless.

"My partner bought a business unit and there was spare room. I said we could make this into a kitchen and we got it all set up in lockdown.

"I got my Facebook page built and started a delivery service in April 2021."

Two months later, the Crewe mum-of-two got a display fridge and starting taking her cheesecakes to local craft fairs.

They were a massive hit - sometimes selling out before the stall was even fully set-up.

Miss Grist said: "Every weekend we went to different places such as Haslington and Alsager. We often sold out in 20 minutes.

"We did the fairs for a few months then in September a friend got me a stall at Sandbach Market Hall.

"After being so popular, I got asked to do two days a week - which quickly went to a full Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

This March, Miss Grist applied for a permanent unit at Sandbach Market Hall and a new shop in Crewe.

The 29-year-old finally received the keys from Guinness Properties for the Bramhall Road unit in October.

Miss Grist added: "A lot of my friends are from Crewe. As time has gone on I have got more and more excited about opening here.

"The cheesecake shop will be a takeout service - but will have a table and chairs inside for those wanting a chat.

"We are also looking to get a Tango Ice Blast machine inside the shop."

Mrs Grist is now fully focusing on her new Crewe shop and Sandbach Market Hall stall.

The Crewe mum added: " I am now focusing on shops in Crewe and Sandbach.

"My kids are only young and I will see where the business goes from here."
