A Sandbach cocktail and burger bar has closed its doors for the final time – after owners failed "to see the business gain momentum".

Phillip Bebbington and Yosleydy Lopez opened Bunita, a play on the Spanish word 'bonita', a year ago last month (December).

But Phillip Bebbington has issued a statement to Sandbach Nub News saying the Congleton Road business closed over the New Year.

"We have really enjoyed these 12 months creating an exciting venue and brand and full of sadness to finally close the doors over the New Year," said Mr Bebbington.

"We would like to thank everybody who has supported us over these 12 months but unfortunately we have failed to see the business gain momentum and become a popular place for diners in the town."

The Bunita site has been put up for lease. A Social Media post said "Are you looking for a prime retail outlet suitable for any cafes, bars or restaurants with full kitchen and seating for up to 22 people?

"Available for immediate leasing options. Location is in Sandbach town centre."

The couple own nearby Cubar in Sandbach which is flourishing and WILL remain open.
