Sandbach Rugby Club's second team are crowned league champions

Sandbach 2nd XV were crowned champions at the weekend after thrashing Aldwinians 96-5 in the final game of the league season.

Led by co-captains Anthony Dowell and Jake Jackson, the team put in a great performance to claim the league title - Halbro Division 1.

Speaking after the match, the co-captains said they were "absolutely buzzing" and praised an outstanding team performance, with special mention going to George Harding and Will Bowbeer.

The 2nd XV will be back in action in two weeks' time when they aim to make it the league and cup double. They'll take on Blackburn 2nd XV in the Nowirul Barry Allen Memorial Jug final at Audenshaw Park.
