A brave Sandbach school girl is having her long hair cut to raise funds for a memorial fund set up in memory of a friend who sadly passed away.
Offley Primary Academy School pupil, Seren Cotton, is having her 34 inch locks cut to raise money for the Patryk Milner Memorial Fund.
And her hair will not only help local children but will also help other children suffering from cancer as Seren is donating her locks to the Little Princess Trust.
Seren and her family has set up a JustGiving page here which has already raised £335 and money is still pouring in.
"When Seren joined Offley in summer 2019, Patryk was one of her first friends, giving her a welcome as big as his smile," said Seren's mum, Hannah.
"And Seren now wishes to cut her 34inch (!!!) hair for a good cause. As well as donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust (which provides free wigs to children suffering from cancer), she would also like to raise funds for the Patryk Milner Memorial Fund;
"The Patryk Milner Memorial fund is important to Seren as Patryk loved all sports. There are many happy memories spent scooting to and from school together, and this money will be invested in activities for the whole community to enjoy.
"We feel that providing resources to encourage participation in sport and aid the development of youngsters of all abilities, would be a fitting tribute to Patryk and thank you for your generosity."
Seren is following in the footsteps of her older sister, Bethwyn, who had her locks chopped off two years ago as we told here to help the Ukrainian crisis and the Little Princess Trust.
Seven-year-old, Patryk Milner tragically fell ill while at school and was air-lifted to Leighton Hospital in Crewe before being transferred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool where he tragically passed away in 2020.
