Sandbach: Students celebrate a "superb" set of A Level results

Students at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College were today celebrating a "superb" set of A Level and vocational course results.

A bumper 19.5 per cent achieved A* and 47.4 per cent per cent achieved an A grade of higher.

One student, Katie Frobisher achieved four A* grades and a further six achieved three A* grades.

They were: Sallie Belcher, Holly Boyd-Leech, Esther Mayson, Katie James, Muskaan Jamil and Melanie Raeburn.

Deputy headteacher, Richard Troth said: "What these students have achieved is exceptional. They should be incredibly proud of themselves."

In vocational courses, pupils also excelled and did equally as well with five students achieving three distinction * - Poppy Lane, Eleanor Heeps, Abby Hulme, Shannon Levitt and Lucy Rookes.

The average grade for Applied General qualifications was a Distinction+

Rory Abbotson, Head of Year 13 said: "As an open entry college we pride ourselves on offering a wide and inclusive curriculum which is challenging and enjoyable for all students. We are delighted to see our vocational students excelling in their respective fields."

Headteacher, Ellen Walton said: "In a year of so much uncertainty and disruption our college students have exemplified our whole school values of learning and passion and our staff have ensured that we have shaped futures and created opportunities.

"These are a set of brilliant results and are testament to our hard working students."
