Organisers of this weekend's Sandbach Transport Festival have issued details of road closures in the town for the two-day annual event.

And they have assured local businesses that road closures for the festival, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday (22nd – 23rd April), will be kept to a minimum.

They are advising motorists that there may be delays due on local roads but say they have listed to feedback and reduced road closures on the first day.

A spokesperson said: "Throughout the weekend, there will be various road closures and parking restrictions in place. 

"After listening to feedback last year, there will be reduced closures on the Saturday.

"The organisers of the Sandbach Transport Festival wish to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused during the Transport Festival event."

On Saturday, there will be road closures on The Commons between Well Bank and Congleton Road from 6:00 am until 4 pm and Market Square/The Cobbles from 8:00am until r pm on Sunday.

On Sunday, there will be road closures on The Commons between Well Bank and Congleton Road from 6 am until 6 pm. Market Square/The Cobbles will still be closed from Saturday until 6 pm, Congleton Road between Offley Road and High Street/Hightown roundabout from 9:00am until 5.30 pm, High Street between A534 Old Mill Road and Hightown/Congleton Road roundabout 7 am until 5 pm, Welles Street between Bold Street and Congleton Road from 9:00 am until 5.30 pm, Green Street between Cross Street and Congleton Road from 9:00 am until 5.30 pm, Bold Street between Bradwell Road and Welles Street including the suspension of parking bays for residential/business access only from 9:00 am until 5.30 pm and a one way road closure on Congleton Road between A534 Old Mill Road and Offley Road from 12:30 pm until 2.20 pm.   

There will be additional parking at Westfields on Middlewich Road and at Sandbach School, main school and at Sandbach House on Crewe Road. Disabled parking on the High Street will be unaffected and additional parking on Sunday provided by businesses on Bold Street.
