Sandbach is getting ready for its biggest annual event of the year – the two-day Sandbach Transport Festival.

We reported here https://www.facebook.com/SandbachNubNews/posts/the-cobbles-in-sandbach-is-rocking-with-the-music-side-of-sandbach-transport-fes/502778534917305/ how details of the annual event had been announced.

Hundreds of people from all over the region visit the market town, once the home of ERF and Foden Trucks, for the popular event.

It takes place on Saturday and Sunday (April 22nd and April 23rd) and will feature a motorcycle stunt team and a display of replica famous cars.

The Mayor of Sandbach, Councillor Kathryn Flavell, will open the festival at 10.00 am on Saturday (April 22).

The motorcycle stunt team will perform on Scotch Common on Saturday and a display of replica famous star cars – the DeLorean Back to the Future car, the Knight Rider car, the Jurassic Park jeep and the Only Fools and Horses van will be on display.

And on Sunday (April 23rd), there will be the main display of vehicles and motorcycles, followed by the final parade which travels through the town.

On both days there will be activities in Sandbach Park, especially for children. Roberts Bakery Band will once again be performing in the centre of town, and leading the parade on Sunday.

And alongside the transport festival, there will be a music festival on the Cobbles on Saturday from 1pm until 9 pm and on Sunday from 12 pm until 4 pm.

The festival will be hosting local singers and artists and headliners include Adele, Amy Winehouse and Coldplay tribute acts

As in previous years, the main sponsor is Sandbach Town Council who have contributed £18,000 to the event.

"Without their support and encouragement, the event would not take place," a spokesperson said previously.

"Compared to last year, there will be reduced road closures on the Saturday, mainly around the Scotch Common car park.

"We would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support of last year's event and welcome you all to the 2023 festival."
