A Sandbach football club is offering home workers who may be sick of the same four walls a change of scenery, along with unlimited tea and coffee.

Sandbach United FC after noticing pubs across the country making similar offers and wanted to help the community utilise the facilities they had to offer.

Oliver Byron, the head of operations at the club, told Sandbach Nub News: "It gives people the chance to have a change of scenery. For a lot of people working from home, it's not easy to be looking at the same four walls every day.

"People have also got young families running around, so it just makes sense to offer people the chance to get out and do something different."

It's not only the change of scenery that Oliver hopes the club's environment will bring, but that people will be able to network and inspire new ideas.

"Once there is four or five different people in there from different businesses it also creates a networking opportunity as well. You'd have five different people that have never met before and would never think of speaking to that person about whatever it is they do and you never know, they could strike up a relationship or a business deal," Oliver explained.

The club first announced the offer on Facebook at the beginning of the week and Oliver said it has been popular with locals so far.

Each person at the club gets their own table and chair which is well spaced out from everyone else to ensure social distancing.

The four hour sessions cost £10 with free Wifi and unlimited tea and coffee. The sessions run from 9am to 1pm and 1pm to 5pm and can be booked by emailing [email protected].
