Sandbach's Mayor Councillor Geraint Price Jones and his consort Christina Price Jones were there to see Sandbach United's First Team treasurer, Andrew Timms honoured to his work for the club.

Andrew was presented with honorary membership of the Hind Heath Road club on the pitch during half-time in front of fans at Saturday's match against Wythenshawe Amateurs which saw the Ramblers win 2-1.

The first team treasurer has been involved with the club for many years, holding the position of chairman and coach before his current role as first team treasurer.

Andrew is pictured being presented with the prestigious award by chairman, Pete Colclough and treasurer, Ian Dolman looking on.

Andrew said: "I oversaw the club become one and feel honoured to be back in the club.

"Sandbach United has come on so much and continues to go from strength to strength."
