A Sandbach restaurant has celebrated its second year in business by launching a plant-based menu.

Cubar in High Street opened two years ago this month, and to celebrate, the eaterie launched a new menu which will run alongside its exisiting one.

Owners, Phillip Bebbington and Yosleydy Lopez set up the Cuban restaurant in May, 2021.

"We have found our Cuban tapas menu has been a real success with bringing freshly produced tapas dishes to the town offering a different cuisine and style unlike any other restaurant in the area," said Phillip.

"We have been constantly asked by vegan and vegetarian eaters if we could produce something to this standard so our chefs have been working for months with local vegan and plant based ingredient suppliers to generate a similar stylish and tasty option.

"The plant-based menu is the perfect menu to run alongside our main menu and has ample options of plant-based meats and vegetarian options all pulled together to produce mouth-watering options."

Cubar, which serves food to around 400 diners a week, isn't the only restaurant in the town owned by the couple.

At the beginning of December, Phillip and Yosleydy opened Bunita, in Congleton Road, serving burgers and cocktails with a twist. Read the story here:

Bunita is a play on the Spanish word 'bonita' which means pretty or cute in Spanish and Portuguese.

Sandbach Nub News wishes Phillip and Yosleydy many more years of success in business in the town.
