Sandbach's Waitrose applies to vary its premises licence
By Deborah Bowyer 25th Mar 2026
Waitrose in Flat Lane, Sandbach, has applied to Cheshire East Council for a full variation to its premises licence.
It wants to extend the opening hours and supply of alcohol hours for consumption off the premises to 24 hours each day.
A spokesperson for Waitrose told Sandbach Nub News: "This proposed licence is part of a minor change to our systems - we have no plans to operate this shop 24 hours a day."
They added: "The extended licence will give us some more flexibility in terms of when we process online orders, but this won't affect the shop's opening hours or deliveries."
Residents have until 16 April to make objections and comments, writing to The Licensing Section, Cheshire East Council, Delamere House, Delamere Street, Crewe. CW1 2LL or by email to [email protected]
